Interview:

The Arsenal Match was a big disappointment - 04/03/2002

The Arsenal Match was a big disappointment

"The Arsenal Match was a big disappointment, we had a great start but when they got their second goal, it was always going to be hard to recover. To lose 2-0 at home is tough to take, but we must bounce back. We were really looking forward to the game and when the match kicked off, we took the game to them. If only we'd managed to put one of those chances away, it would certainly have changed the score, and possibly the result."

"Make no mistake about it, Arsenal are an excellent team, they are capable of fantastically fluent football and also have both a very resilient team and a squad that can cope with injuries. I think it's accurate to say that we missed Beller's more than they missed Henry! We have some great forwards, but Alan Shearer is similar to both Shola and Carl Cort, and as a result we had to play a different way. Maybe if we played Robert or Lua Lua in Beller's position it might have been different, but we'll never know. One good thing is that Kieron Dyer is getting close to fitness and can't be too far away from a place on the bench. Maybe Liverpool will come too soon, but I hope we'll see him against Arsenal on Sunday. The one thing about Saturday's game is that we have the chance to set the record straight with an F.A. Cup win. I'm not saying it'll be easy, but I can promise you that I and the team will be giving it every thing we have!."
