I think that most of the players, and most of the fans were quite happy that we face the French, rather than the Italian team in tonights semi-final. However any team that beats Inter Milan home and away deserve respect and this is going to be a very tight game. The mood in the dressing room after the PSV win was very bouyant and that confidence will be needed to get a decent result at home before we travel to Marseille.
Having been born in the North East I know what it will mean to the fans if we can make it Gothenburg. As a player, albeit a squad player, I want to be part of the final...so I'm fully aware of how big tonights game will be.
As for who plays, I think it'll be Shola up front with Al. The injuries have come thick and fast and at such a crucial time of the season. But that's what we have a squad for. I thought I was getting on against Villa, the gaffer asked me to warm up but then changed his mind when the lads on the pitch changed things themselves. I'd settle for getting on in the last minute of the final...then getting the winner off my backside!!
