Aston Villa midfielder Nolberto Solano believes Peru can upset Argentina when the teams meet in their World Cup qualifying game in Lima on Saturday.

Reuters reports that the Peru skipper told reporters that while he was expecting a tough clash, an upset could be on the cards against the team which knocked his side out of the Copa America in July.

"They're a team who always want to win. Their players are never satisfied," Solano said. "But we have our strong points and with a lot of optimism and determination, we can do it."

"We have to play with intelligence and try to stop them getting the ball. If we get caught out of position and leaving spaces, they're going to make things complicated."

Argentina is currently second in the South American qualifying group while Peru is in seventh.
