Back for the Baggies game
No game is easy

Itís been a long summer, not helped after the suspension from last season carried over and caused me to miss the win over Southampton. The most important thing is not that I played, but that we took the points. We can now start to build on those points and aim to improve on last seasonÖif we can do that itíll be a great year for Aston Villa.

As for me, my fitness is good. The ĎCopa Americaí kept me busy over the summer and although the result wasnít what we wanted, the games were never going to be easy. I just feel that we didnít really play to our potential. However it was a good tournament and Peru can be proud of hosting the event.

Now Iím back in England Iím preparing for my first Premiership game of the season. Iím playing for the reserves tonight and I think thatíll help get me the match sharpness that only comes with playing.

Itís another derby game on Sunday and although West Bromich have just been promoted, we have to treat them with respect. I always say that there are no easy games in the Premiership - simply because that is the truth. If we go into the game with the wrong attitude we will be beaten. But we have great team spirit and the gaffer makes sure we are focused and determined. If this is to be a very good season for the club, we need to be consistent. Two wins out of two would be the start we were hoping for and would put us in a nice position for the trip to Charlton a week tomorrow.
