Charity Auction - 19/10/2002
This Friday the web site will be ‘officially launched’. We’re holding a press conference at St. James Park where we’ll also be launching a charity ‘jockstrap to jersey’ auction. We’ve teamed up with Barry Venison’s Bid4Sport.com and we’ll all be donating items of training and match kit to be auctioned on Barry’s site. The proceeds will be donated to the William Hardy Trust.
William is a three-year-old boy who lost three limbs to meningitis. The prosthetic limbs that he requires are very expensive and his trust fund has been set up to enable his parents to provide for him. Alan Shearer has offered the shirt he wore at Anfield earlier this season. It was a great game at Anfield and of course, Al managed to our opener in the 2-2 draw. We’ll all be wearing our individual web site T shirts at the launch, and afterwards we’ll sign them and include them in the auction.
