Funniest Football Incident?
I was sub for England under 19’s and Bobby Robson, who at the time was the full England manager, was also managing us. It was an away game in Uruguay, and one of our players, I think Paul Ince, went down injured in the first half. The manager told me to warm up, which I did, it was only when I began to take off my tracksuit top that I realised I was only wearing my ‘t’ shirt and I’d left my England shirt in the changing room!! Luckily Ince, or whoever it was, recovered and I wasn’t’ needed. Half time couldn’t come fast enough and the first thing I did was pull my shirt on.
