I honestly think that England will struggle. The draw has been very tough and if the team doesn’t play to it’s full potential, I can’t see us progressing past the first group stage. Having said that, if we do get through the group we’ll be very well placed to go further. By then the injury situation may have cleared up, and if so, I’d like to see Kieron Dyer given a free role, but it looks like he’ll be played on the left and with this not being his best position, I hope he’ll do himself justice.

The injury situation is worrying, particularly as it’s just the midfield that’s being affected. I heard that Trevor Sinclair wasn’t very happy, I understand his frustration, it’s strange being a fringe player, you don’t feel part of the team and it’s easy to get wound up. Personally, I think I’d have stayed with the squad, he’s going to look a bit stupid if he’s got to fly back.
