Since the new gaffer has arrived we've failed to win in five games and only scored two goals, but statistics only tell part of a story and I'm very confident that this club is moving in the right direction. All the lads have been very impressed with the new management team and I can honestly say that we're really enjoying our football - if not the results. Every one, even the keepers, have been instructed to play football, well all have to be comfortable with the ball and were playing a passing game that's producing some excellent football. The gaffer gets involved and has spent quite a bit of time on the training pitch, it's refreshing, and as I say, we're all enjoying it. All that's missing is the end result and it's only a matter of time before things start to click.

On Saturday we face Plymouth, who after losing their manager have won two and drawn two and are clear at the top. We respect them, but Paul Hart's attitude is very much along the lines of don't worry about the opposition - we've to play our game, keep the ball, give and go, and not worry about what they might or might not do.

I'm back playing as a centre-half, and although this isn't my favourite position, I'm more than happy with the way things are working out. We're struggling to put the ball in the ball in the back of the net, but with Gary Birch and Chris Shuker arriving at the club to support the lads who're already here; we'll put that right. Gary Birch is a strong target man who holds the ball up very well, whereas Chris Shuker (and Kevin Betsy) can play off him. Just give them time and you'll start to see the goals coming. Just a quick word to wish all the best to Isiah Rankin, he's a good lad who I speak to regularly - I'm sure Ranks will do well for himself over at Grimsby.
