Notts a game to remember - 28/10/2003

Disappointing, that’s the only word to describe Saturday’s game. We really should have done better, and without being disrespectful to Notts County, if we played them this Saturday I’m sure we’d win. Darren Caskey's goal was excellent for him, and terrible for us. He ran for about fifty  yards and if I'd been in my usual position I'm sure I'd have got to him - but I didn't and he put the ball in the back of the net! Sometimes your game just doesn’t come together, and this was certainly one of those games. I had a few things to say to the boys after the game, but I must also hold my hand up and say that I didn’t perform.

It makes us all the more determined to turn Barnsley over this weekend. They’re a good side who’ll provide us with a real test, but we can beat them. They’ve had a tough time off the park last season but have come through it - now they’re only one point off the top spot - if they win their game in hand. They’ve also got a good away record, winning their last two games on their travels.

It’s good news for Brentford with Jay Tabb signing a new contract. He only signed today, but I see that it’s been reported he signed a few days ago. With five goals in the last few games, he likes to get forward. Being selfish, he’s also good for me – we link up well, especially since he’s left footed. I’ve also scored a few times this season and I’m looking to keep that going. I’ve sort of set myself a target, and if I don’t get well into double figures I’ll be disappointed.

We now look to Saturday’s game…bring it on…
