A good week - but we want more
Let's build on the last few results

   Hartlepool United

After having a bit of a nightmare start to the season, this week has been a lot better. Seven points from a possible nine during the last three games is a ratio we’ve got to look to build on. I enjoyed the Hartlepool game, we played well against a decent side who were full of confidence. After missing two chances myself, it’s just as well that I set up Tommy Wright for the winner. For the first miss I took a gamble at the throw in and skied it over the bar, I was happy with the second, but the keeper pulled off a good save. Tommy Wright has made a difference for us, he’s got an edge to him – as all good strikers have.

I’m not too unhappy with my performances, but I know I can still get better.  I would say that I’m only about 80-90% fit – I missed a fair bit of pre-season and then had the dead leg last month which cost me another three games. I’ll be there when I’ve had eight or nine games so I’ve a few to go yet.

We’ve now got two away games on the bounce. First it’s Chesterfield and they’re not doing so well if the league table is anything to go by. We’re after a play-off place or better – so it’s got be three points. We’re then off to Colchester next Tuesday and although they’re sitting in mid-table, I’d have to say we’re looking for at least a draw. So I want four points from six, if we get them that’ll put us in a much better position and we’ll be playing with real belief and confidence for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday.  The Yorkshire club will no doubt bring a few fans with them – I like that, and all the more to see a Brentford win.

Cheers,

Hunty
