Rob wants to play football - 07/11/2001

I spoke to Rob Lee recently, and he was worried about the fan reaction to his transfer request. He's a genuine guy and a great pro. Rob wants to play football, and he looks at the fact that the club won't extend his contract which threatens his chances of extending his career. If another club came in for him now, he'd probably get a contract to see him through this season AND the next, whereas at the moment, Newcastle aren't offering him football past this May. I can see both sides of the argument, I just hope that Rob continues his great from and forces the club to keep him purely by his footballing performances!
