Still some work to do
It could be another classic

Whilst a draw was perhaps a fair result, I can't help feeling that the London side played within themselves. For me they never really got going, whilst we were at full stretch to contain them. However we did create a number of chances and after keeping a clean sheet, the players deserve a lot of credit.

It's becoming a bit of joke that no club wants to finish in that fourth spot. Liverpool losing at home to Charlton was a surprise, whilst Villa beating Chelsea also belongs in that bracket. It's so open, but you can say that it's in Newcastle's hands. If we can get a point from the game in hand we'll be leading the pack. As I've said before, it'll go to the wire. That game at Anfield is going to be something special. And I'll tell you what...the pressure's on Liverpool! The fact is that although they'll have home 'advantage', they're so edgy at Anfield and their crowd is so demanding, it could just work in  our favour.

In the meantime we face PSV tonight in a crucial UEFA game. I really fancy Newcastle, and if it's tight going into the last quarter of the game, I think we'll have too much for them in the final stages. A semi-final would really get people in the mood and it'll take the city by storm. But let's not get too carried away yet, we need a solid and professional performance...then we can get excited.
