A great start to my QPR career - 20/10/2003

I’m really enjoying myself with QPR, playing games, keeping clean sheets, and winning matches – what more can you ask for? I’ve also been made to feel welcome by the lads and I’ve absolutely no regrets about dropping down a division.

To be honest there’s a great deal of expectancy at the club, with missing out at Cardiff in May – coming so close, the players here have been determined to set the record straight. As a result there’s a great deal of focus – perhaps the manager has to take credit for that. Ian Holloway manages like he used to play – with honesty and endeavour. He doesn’t let anyone take an easy ride and that suits me down to the ground.

With playing against Kidderminster the other week, I think I’ve now played in just about every competition there is – from Champions League to LDV Trophy. I also played in a reserve game – which we won and I’m feeling sharper now than I have done in months.

I’ve been very impressed with the QPR fans, we’re getting around 15,000 at Loftus Road and took a figure approaching 3,000 to Peterborough on Saturday. That’s pretty impressive and just goes to show that the club deserves to be in a higher division. Fans play their part, but it’s points that get us promotion and as we approach November we’re handily placed for automatic promotion. It’s down to the players, and although I’m here for an initial three months, I’d love to contribute to a season ending in promotion for the super hoops!
