Ground Profile Pride Park Stadium was officially opened by Her Majesty the Queen
and the Duke of Edinburgh. The Rams played their first game against European
stars Sampdoria. Pride Park also hosted it’s first Under-21 international in
February 1999. England defeated France 2-1 in front of a record crowd for an
