Blackburn Rovers
HistoryBlackburn Rovers were formed by a committee of Public School old boys at a meeting held at St Ledger Hotel in 1875. During this meeting the club also adopted their colours of blue and white. One of the committee members, John Lewis went on to become a founder of the Lancashire F.A. Blackburn Rovers were one of the founding clubs of the Football League when it was founded in 1888. Blackburn Rovers have won the Premiership one in 1995. They have won the league championship twice, in 1912 and 1914. They have won the FA cup on six occasions 1884, 1885, 1886, 1890, 1891 and 1928. Every match Blackburn Rovers played in 1875 was away from home as they did not have a home ground. |
