HistoryThe employees of the Thames Iron Works decided to form a football club, Thames Iron Works FC in 1895. Within the first two years in existence they had entered the F.A Cup and the London League. The committee desired to introduce professional players, so in June 1900 Thames Iron Works FC were wound up and West Ham United were formed a month later, July 1900
West Ham have never won the English league, with their best finish being third in 1986. They have won the FA Cup on three occasions 1964, 1975 and 1980. The Hammers also have one European trophy to their name, the European Cup Winners Cup in 1965.
